My Journey
From succession in Nature, to remembering my own
I'm Sjoerd, known here as Souvereign. For close to two decades I've studied succession, in Nature, in human systems, in myself, and let what I learned reshape how I relate to freedom, to relationships, and to the wholeness underneath both.
My own turning point came in Bali, in December 2018, sitting outside in the rain, worn down and asking for clarity. What followed became a long, ongoing process I call the Return to Sophia, and it’s what led me into Syntropic Agroforestry, Human Ecology, and the teaching, training, and 1:1 guiding I now call my work.
Three fields hold everything I share. Syntropic Agroforestry is the ecological foundation. Syntropic Human Ecology, which I also call EcoSophy, is that same logic applied to people and communities. And Sophianic Wisdom is the inner work underneath both, remembering feeling over fear, drawing on ancient wisdom traditions and my own direct experience.
Along the way there’s been research land in Bali, training communities in Tennessee and Vanuatu, public speaking on regeneration, and close to two decades of Regenerative Agriculture, Social Permaculture, and Collaborative Resilient Communities work across four continents. All of it points the same direction: home to Nature, including your own.
